ROUND TABLES

The information exchange and networking round tables for trustees and staff of California's public retirement systems for July - October 2010 are scheduled as follows:

The Benefits Round Table for the benefit managers and staff of the member systems will be held Friday, September 10, 2010, at the San Diego Island Palms.  The chair is Jerry Fafaul of San Diego County Employees' Retirement Association.

The Attorneys' Round Table for retirement system legal counsel will be held at the San Diego Island Palms on Friday, September 10, 2010.  The chair is Steve Rice of San Diego County Employees' Retirement Association.

The Information Technology Round Table will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 at the San Diego Island Palms.  The co-chairs are Eric Kansaki of San Diego County Employees' Retirement Association and David Bond of San Diego City Employees' Retirement System.

The Accountants' Round Table will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010, at the San Diego Island Palms.  The co-chairs are Henry Solis of the Ventura County Employees' Retirement Association and Julie Underwood of the San Bernardino County Employees' Retirement Association.


The Administrative Assistants' Round Table will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010, at the San Diego Island Palms.  The co-chairs are David Low of the City of Oakland and Barbara Norbregas of LA Fire and Police Pensions.


The Trustees' Round Table for the board members of member pension systems will be held Friday, October 15, 2010, at the San Diego Island Palms.  The chair is Steve Meyer of San Diego City Employees' Retirement System.

ADMINISTRATOR'S INSTITUTE ON SEPTEMBER 22-24 IN SAN DIEGO

GENERAL ASSEMBLY HELD MARCH 7-9 IN PALM SPRINGS

Member systems' trustees and senior staff along with representatives of CALAPRS 2010 sponsor firms gathered in Palm Springs March 7-9 at the Doral Desert Princess Resort.  The annual CALAPRS educational conference, "Public Pension Systems Entering a Decade of Change" featured presentations and discussions on topics germane to the public pension business in California. [General Assembly presentations available for download] Mark your calendar for the 2011 General Assembly to be held March 5-8, 2011 at the Monterey Marriott.


NEW CALAPRS ADMINISTRATOR SELECTED

The CALAPRS Board of Directors is pleased to announce the agreement with Holland-Parlette Associates, Inc. of San Francisco for administrative services and a new CALAPRS headquarters office effective January 1, 2010.  The office is located at 575 Market Street, Suite 2125 in the financial district of San Francisco. Kerry Parker, CAE and Lindsay Johnson will serve as the new administrators.  CALAPRS new telephone number is: 415-764-4860.  Rich Goss and Jackie Hyde will continue to work with CALAPRS transitioning through June 30, 2010.
